about

This is a collection of never-before-released improvisations and dance theater commissions composed and performed by Chris Vine and
recorded in Washington DC, Wales, and Brazil between 1983-2023.

Chris Vine developed his sound in the downtown scenes of New York and Washington D.C. in the early 1980s. Working with performance poets, he formed a partnership with Chris Torrance in Wales in 1985 and was guitarist with Ted Milton's UK cult group Blurt throughout the 1990s. Commissioned as composer and sound designer for Welsh dance and theatre companies such as Earthfall, Teatr Genedlaethol Cymru (National Theatre of Wales) and the Centre for Performance Research. Currently performs as Barsa and Briggy with Brazilian drummer Wesley Ribeiro and improvises live online with the Ethernet Orchestra, with musicians in Australia, Brazil, Germany, Canada, Iran, the UK and China.
